Weekly Web Watch #27

Wow. It's been nearly a month since I did a WWW post, moving across the Atlantic and then losing the internet connection at the farm for a couple of weeks will do that to a gal.

The one blog post to incite enormous jealousy is Retro Chick's adventure on the Orient Express this week, it is one of my dreams to go on that thing.

The vegan ice cream floats on Vegan Housewives look incredible, I must try them soon.

This next one is actually from a month ago, but I'm still thinking about it. Tilly & the Buttons (one of my first and favourite sewing blogs) interviewed Sarah from The Craftivist Collective in May. I had never heard of Craftivism before that, but now I've been mulling the idea over constantly since reading the interview, to the point where I'm considering setting up an Ontario contingent.

This recipe isn't new, but it is the best cookie recipe in the world, bar none.

I realised that I haven't done a write up about the School of Rock I attended in April, I guess I got busy. So here's a link some write-ups from Kat herself and the other attendees. Needless to say it was awesome, educational and very rock n' roll.

Weekly Web Watch #25

In a way this is my last "proper" weekend. My last day at work is Wednesday, then I have just under 2 weeks 'til I fly to Canada. I have no idea what my weekends will look like after that, what kind of job I'll have, what my schedule will be like, what my, well, life will be like. It's pretty bloody exciting!

In last weekend style I had to see the return of the Starbucks hangout. I've been too busy to keep it up as a weekly ritual unfortunately.

I'm going to start off with something about ME! A few weeks ago the lovely Emma from The Gift Shed came to visit me & Milo and raid my studio, she snagged some of my favourite things (I could sob for my Gocco & typewriter but needs must) but I'm pleased they've gone to a loving home. Anyway, she posted about it here. You also need to check out her Etsy shop, I just picked up two of her Beatrix Potter notebooks and they are absolutely delightful, I really want more but I should have even bought these!

I'm kind of addicted to motivation. That's a weird statement, huh? I don't know what it is, I love to pin motivational pictures, I have jewellery with various motivational words on, I google for Eleanor Roosevelt quotes all the time (some of her quotes are wonderful), for a while I collected 'life guide' type books, I don't always take heed but I love seeking out this stuff. Someone I gain a lot of motivation from is Angela Liddon from Oh She Glows, the lady responsible for bringing green monster smoothies into my life. And this week she's doubled the dose of motivation by writing about the Oprah Lifeclass she attended.

This camera bag (found via The Dainty Squid) kills me, the details! The craftsmanship!

Karen from Did You Make That? cracks me up, her crochaliser is totally inspired and I'll be kind of sad when she's finished all her granny squares (sorry Karen) and the crochaliser will be no more. Click the image below to go to her blog and watch her latest update.

I loved this post from Moorea Seal this week, talk about speaking from the heart. It's a pretty important thing to remember, but we all manage to forget it.

Weekly Web Watch #24

Things are getting busy round here, my calendar is more full than ever, that's weird for someone who needs to spend a lot of time doing nothing! I'm enjoying not watching TV so far, I barely miss it (except the new series of Mad Men, of course). I've been listening to a ton of music and podcasts and doing some embroidery, fun stuff.

I missed a WWW or two so this isn't all from this week, it's all stuff I've been loving though.

I must start with the Gocco Workshop Xtina Lamb of Printed Wonders is running. I did one of her workshops this time last year and it was so, so good. Read about my experience here if you want to see what it's about.

Totally love this mug holder spoon thing (technical term) DIY from Grrfeisty.

I think this is an important read, on not saying sorry for who you are, by Gala Darling.

The way Rachel (Smile & Wave) transformed part of her basement into a dressing room is inspired, I think we can all learn a thing or two from her. It will certainly help me to look at how I utilise space and how even the ugliest of rooms can be made pretty with some imagination (and a vintage sheet or two).

I want this Cath Kidston Diamond Jubilee bag, and I want it bad. But I Must. Not. Buy. Anything. It's only £6, but really I mustn't buy ANYTHING.

Weekly Web Watch #23

This is the pretty/ugliest hoody I have EVER seen, I love it.

This is one of my favourite outfit posts in a while, the dress, the saddle shoes, it's dreamy. I've been lusting after saddle shoes for so long, I don't know why I don't own any yet.

This customisable necklace speaks for itself, so so so good.

This DIY scratchcard tutorial on The Dainty Squid is brilliant, what an ace idea.

Weekly Web Watch #22

Phew, another busy week and only set to get busier as the countdown to Canada continues. Had a lovely day today though, I met the lovely Emma from The Gift Shed and she bought some goodies from my studio. Then I spent a little while in Starbucks working before my friend came to meet me. Now I have a small dog attached to my lap and a few of my favourite TV shows waiting for me to watch.

For my birthday my lovely friend gave me the prettiest dove necklace, it's made out of recycled tin and it's perfect. It was made by this lady: Kate Hamilton-Hunter, and she makes the BEST jewellery. I'm really obsessed with this bracelet.

I think this branch photo hanger DIY from Sincerely, Kinsey is fantastic, and lends itself well to swapping out your photos and prints often.

This bag from Modcloth might be the most perfect bag I have ever seen. The colour, the scallops, the teeny tiny hearts, the little birdie. Must. Sell. Things. Not. Buy. Them.

Pugly Pixel is a really fantastic resource for blog design bits, that girl really knows her stuff AND has great style. I love these roses.

How I don't already own a pair of these shoes I do not know. Oh Vivienne, you kill me.
